Gas Grill Covers Cook Your Food Faster
Do you know how a smoker works? You light the smoker, close the lid and the smoke cooks your food. It gives it a great flavor and it’s very efficient. The same concept is used with gas grill covers. With gas grills, you have complete control over the heat, as well as when you want it on. A natural gas barbecue grill can be turned off instantly. That’s not to say that it will cool down instantly, but the flame is extinguished immediately. Well, anyone who has used a coal burning grill cover to extinguish a grill might ask, “What’s the point of a gas grill cover?” A gas grill cover will cook your food faster and more efficiently.
Locks In The Heat
When you use a gas grill, the heat is coming from underneath. If you leave the gas grill cover open, that heat will still cook your food but most of the heat will be transferred up and out of the grill since heat rises. When you close the gas grill cover, you are locking that heat inside. The inside will grow even hotter than it was before when the grill cover was open and your food will be done in no time.
Smoking It
Even though you’re using a gas grill, when you close your gas grill cover, you are essentially smoking your food. Just like a food smoker, that heat is permeating throughout, as well as the smoke, giving your food a unique and flavorful taste. When you close the gas grill cover, you are also saving energy, which is good for your budget. But if you want the quality of a smoker with the convenience of a gas grill, you have to get a good gas grill cover.
Complete Seal
If your gas grill cover doesn’t completely seal, you may be losing energy. This could cost you more in the long run and it could cause a change in the quality of your food as well as how quickly it cooks. Go to the manufacturer of your grill for a replacement gas grill cover if you need one. This is better than getting one from an outside source only to find it doesn’t fit correctly. You’ll be happy you got one that fits, however, when you notice your food comes out better every time. To test to see if your gas grill cover fits completely, wait until it’s smoking while you’re cooking and then close the lid. If a lot of the smoke escapes, you might need a new cover.
