Spice Up Your Deck with Resin Wicker Outdoor Furniture

Every porch or balcony needs furniture for people to sit on and socialize around. Dozens of different materials and hundreds of different styles can be found in outdoor furniture alone, so choosing which materials and styles can be an exercise in futility if you don’t know where to begin. Of course, aesthetics are only part of the deal when it comes to purchasing furniture as durability and price are very real concerns as well. For a truly long lasting and sturdy piece or set of outdoor furniture, look no further than resin wicker outdoor furniture.

Luxury without the Fragility

Many items labeled “luxury” or “premium” are quite frail, like expensive china or a diamond necklace. However, resin wicker outdoor furniture can hardly be called a weak product. The material is such a sturdy and durable one that it has been in use for thousands of years, dating back to use by the ancient Egyptians. The real secret to resin wicker is, as the name might imply, resin. Some natural resins are secreted by plants, but now several different artificial versions are synthesized at a much lower cost. Regardless of the material used for the wicker, the resin will make it substantially harder, acting as a natural varnish while solidifying and hardening into a crust like shell.

Still, resin wicker outdoor furniture often uses hard products for the wicker part of the furniture. Plastics or hard woods like bamboo are used for the frame while slightly softer (and accordingly more comfortable) materials like reeds might be used for the seat and back of the piece of furniture in the case of a chair.

Before, resin wicker outdoor furniture might have cost a small fortune to purchase, using only rare materials to achieve the best product possible. Now however, more common and cheaper products such as plastics are used to create an authentic resin wicker piece of furniture without all of the associated costs (both monetary and ecological) of harvesting and modifying natural resources. If anything, artificial materials are even better than traditional products – they last longer, can hold more weight, are generally cheaper, and don’t harm the environment as much.

So if you’re in the market for luxury outdoor furniture, turn to resin wicker outdoor furniture to decorate your patio or deck. A more comfortable, stylish, or stronger product simply won’t be found anywhere else. The price is probably not as high as you’d think for a premium piece of furniture, and you’ll be able to use every chair and table for decades.
